ITINERARY:

DAY 1:

Your holiday begins as you fly into San Salvador, via the US or Mexico (other routes available). Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Welcome to Central America!

DAY 2:

Explore El Salvador’s Volcanoes Route. Climb Cerro Verde for great views of Izalco Volcano and then walk the cloudforest along the rim for magnificent views into the crater below.

DAY 3:

Head north to the charming colonial town of Suchitoto, the heart of the indigo industry in days gone by. Enjoy a visit to a local indigo plantation and a guided boat ride on Lake Suchitoto.

DAY 4:

Drive the Ruta de las Flores, a 38-km long scenic excursion through some of El Salvador’s most picturesque villages. Stop for a local coffee tour or enjoy one of the local markets.

DAY 5:

Take a day to relax and unwind. How about a soak in one of the local naturally-occurring hot springs?

DAY 6:

Travel over into Guatemala and on to the picturesque Lake Atitlan, one of Central America’s most beautiful lakes.

DAY 7:

Enjoy a boat trip across Lake Atitlan, exploring the shore-side communities and learning about their customs and traditions.

DAY 8:

Transfer to Antigua, the former Spanish Colonial capital city and a declared UNESCO World Heritage site.

DAY 9:

Take a leisurely day to explore this jewel of Central America – visit a women’s weaving cooperative or climb nearby Pacaya Volcano.

DAY 10:

Cross the border into neighbouring Honduras. Onwards travel over to Copan, where you will stay near the Maya Ruins.

DAY 11:

Enjoy a guided tour of Copan’s ruins before travelling onto San Pedro Sula where you’ll catch a flight to Roatan Island.

DAYS 12-14:

Relax on the island’s white-sand beaches, snorkel along the Barrier Reef, or just soak up the sun whilst sipping on a long cool drink.
